New Executive Director at Future Possibilities for Kids

Future Possibilities for Kids’ Board of Directors is thrilled to announce the appointment of Vibhuti Mehra as Executive Director, effective August 22, 2022.

Vibhuti is a seasoned community builder with an extensive background in leading multidisciplinary teams to build strategic collaborations and deliver innovative programs and services. She is fueled by seeing individuals, organizations, and communities realize their full potential. She has extensive experience in embedding anti-oppression, anti-racism, equity, diversity and inclusion principles into practice at all levels of the organization.

“After an extensive search process, Vibhuti’s experience in strategic and operational planning, change management, community relations and partnerships, program development, revenue generation, and staff and volunteer management made her the perfect choice to lead FPK’s phenomenal staff team to new levels of growth and impact. We are excited about the future of FPK and how Vibhuti will help drive innovation to coach children to believe in themselves and lead community change.” said Ramin Fazel, Chair of the Board of Directors.

Vibhuti previously served as Director of Programs at Elizabeth Fry Toronto, providing leadership in the development and delivery of gender based, trauma-informed programs and services. Prior to that, she served as the Executive Director of CAYR Community Connections, where she transformed the organization’s programs, implemented a bold new strategic plan and diversified revenue streams. She also teaches courses in Non-Profit Funding and Grant Writing at Seneca College.

Vibhuti has almost two decades of experience working at diverse national, regional, and local community-based non-profit organizations in Canada and the United States. She has worked on a range of social change issues including dignified care and support for people living with HIV/AIDS; inclusive and safer community services for 2SLGBTQ+ community members; rights of workers with family and caregiving responsibilities; and advocacy and education to improve services and supports for women experiencing gender-based violence.

She has a Masters in Communications and Information Studies from Rutgers University and a Master’s in English Literature from University of Mumbai.

“I am honored and excited by the opportunity to lead FPK as Executive Director and scale new heights in partnership with this agency’s dedicated and talented staff and Board of Directors. I also acknowledge the legacy of FPK’s past leaders and team members who have laid a strong foundation for me to build upon. I am eager to explore innovative ideas, approaches, and pathways to engage children in leading community change,” said Vibhuti.
