A Message from our Board Chair
To the FPK Community:
As a dedicated supporter of Future Possibilities for Kids, we have some news to share with you.
After 8 years as FPK’s Executive Director, Rickesh Lakhani has let the Board know that he has decided to step down from this role to begin a new chapter in his career. We are so grateful to Rickesh for all he’s done to lead the organization in this capacity, and for the over 8 years of volunteer service before that – all for a cause he cares deeply about.
We are excited at the opportunity this presents for the next chapter of FPK. New leadership will mean renewed energy and excitement for FPK’s mission, while building on Rickesh’s tremendous contributions. Despite the challenges of recent years, FPK is proud to have effective and growing programs, a solid and engaged staff team, a diverse and committed Board, a strong operational foundation, and a wide network of volunteers, funders, and donors supporting our work. We are stronger than ever, and excited for the opportunity to reach new levels of growth and impact in FPK’s future.
Rickesh has committed to staying with us for the next few months to ensure a smooth transition. With his continued leadership, support from the Board, and the committed and long-standing leadership and staff, we will ensure that FPK’s programs and operations continue at the highest levels.
We have hired KCI, an Executive Search firm, to guide us through this transition and help us find the next leader for FPK, through a process grounded in our values and guided by our commitment to anti-oppression and equity.
Beyond this transition, we are thankful to know that Rickesh has assured us he will remain a friend and supporter of FPK for a long time. We wish him the very best as he looks forward to exploring what is next for him.
We are confident that FPK will continue our momentum and success going forward. Our mission to coach children to believe in themselves and lead community change remains at the centre of all we do, and we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead.
