Become a KidCoach

You don't need to know anything about children or have previous volunteer experience with children, but you must be committed to helping a child develop the potential leader within him. You also need to be enthusiastic, open to other cultures, like having fun and enjoy learning along side people of all ages. In total, you'll devote 55 to 60 hours to "your" Kid during a 6 1/2 month period that runs from late October to the end of April.

What are your time commitments as a KidCoach?

  • 5 full days (one full-day coach training session and 4 full-day workshops)
  • 22 weekly, scheduled phone calls with your Kid that run 15-30 minutes
  • Periodic 15-minutes monthly phone calls with your Lead Coach
  • One graduation festivity, "Power of Possibilities Night" (POP Night)

KidCoach Eligibility:

  1. Be at least 20 years of age
  2. Submit an Application
  3. Obtain a clear police check certificate (Forms provided by FPK)
  4. Pass the reference checks
  5. Have e-mail access
  6. Pay a $50 KidCoach Registration Fee
