Become a KidCoach

You don't need to know anything about children or have previous volunteer experience with children, but you must be committed to helping a child develop the potential leader within him. You also need to be enthusiastic, open to other cultures, like having fun and enjoy learning along side people of all ages. In total, you'll devote 45-50 hours to "your" Kid during a 6 –month program that runs from late October to the end of April.

What are your time commitments as a KidCoach?

  • One FULL-DAY COACH TRAINING session
  • Weekly scheduled phone calls with your Kid – 15-30-minutes in length
  • Four HALF-DAY WORKSHOPS (3.5 hours in the morning or afternoon on Saturdays) with all the Kids and coaches (please refer to either GTA or London calendar of the year)
  • 15-minutes monthly phone calls with your Team Lead
  • One GRADUATION FESTIVITY called POWER OF POSSIBILITES (POP) NIGHT at the end of April

KidCoach Eligibility:

  1. Be at least 18 years of age and older
  2. Submit an Application
  3. Obtain a clear police reference check certificate
  4. Pass a personal reference check
  5. Have e-mail and internet access
  6. Pay a $35 KidCoach application fee

Steps to becoming a KidCoach with Future Possibilities for Kids:

  • Complete the attached KidCoach application and submit it to our office by email, fax or mail.
  • Encourage your friends, family and colleagues to join you in this gratifying volunteer opportunity.
